Authorities have announced that a registered sex offender from Southeast Washington D.C. has been sentenced to more than 27 years in prison. 43-year-old Michael Humphrey allegedly uploaded graphic videos of himself depicting his sexual abuse of a five-year-old girl.

On January 8, Humphrey pleaded guilty to Sexual Exploitation of a Child. He was previously convicted on a charge related to the sexual abuse of another child. On March 10, 2020, Humphrey was convicted of Third-Degree Sex Offense.

He has been a registered sex offender in the District of Columbia since May 2022. U.S. District Judge Trevor N. McFadden also ordered Humphrey to serve 15 years of supervised release and to pay restitution to the girl and several other victims.

Investigators say they searched Humphrey’s Google accounts and found three videos that documented Humphrey sexually abusing a five-year-old girl. Following Humphrey’s arrest on August 11, 2023, authorities searched his electronic devices.

Authorities say they found thousands of images and hundreds of videos depicting the sexual abuse of children.
