Update – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that it has arrested 60-year-old Mark Calloway in connection to the fatal stabbing in Lithia. Calloway is facing one charge of Second Degree Murder with a Weapon.

HCSO says the victim, 29-year-old Jacob Whitaker, was found unresponsive suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper torso. A booking photo of the defendant will be available shortly.

Original – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says it is currently investigating a death following a fatal stabbing. HCSO reports that there was an altercation involving two adult men in the 5600 block of Tanagerlake Road in the Fishhawk Community.

The altercation reportedly led to a fatal stabbing. HCSO deputies responded to a reported stabbing around 1:02 p.m. on October 22, 2024. At the scene, responding deputies found an adult male suffering from upper body trauma.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other details are available at this time.
