The Lynchburg Police Department says it found a deceased man early Monday morning during a welfare check. LPD says its officers responded to a welfare check on a male subject in the 1000 block of Rivermont Avenue.

LPD and Lynchburg Fire Department personnel responded to the scene. LPD says it found 39-year-old Anthony Bowling deceased. Authorities believe that Bowling had been knocking on doors in the area before arriving at the residence.

LPD is asking residents in the lower Rivermont Avenue area to check their security cameras for footage between 11 p.m. on October 20 and 1:30 a.m. on October 21. LPD says Bowling is a white male around 6’2” and weighing 200 pounds.
