The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 19-year-old San Jacinto man in connection to a fatal assault on September 22, 2024. RCSO says San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to an assault at a local park in the 500 block of East Main Street around 9:51 p.m. on September 22, 2024.

Authorities say a man was found suffering from traumatic injuries. The man, who was identified as 40-year-old David Montero, was transported to an area hospital for treatment. RCSO says Montero remained hospitalized until September 25 when he passed away.

On October 19, 2024, Central Homicide Investigators identified 19-year-old Angel Guzman-Banuelos as the suspect in the murder. Authorities say Guzman-Banuelos was arrested in San Diego County on October 17.

He has been booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for Murder.
