The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accidental shooting that occurred in the Bermuda Oaks subdivision off Moores Mill Road. MCSO says deputies responded to a report of an injured juvenile at the location around 5:15 p.m. on October 18, 2024.

Deputies say they found a 15-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Authorities transported the juvenile to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. MCSO says the juvenile remains under treatment.

Sheriff’s Office detectives say the investigation determined that the shooting was accidental. Detectives believe charges will be filed in connection to the incident. No other details are available at this time.
