The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office reports that it is investigating a fatality crash that occurred yesterday morning. Around 9:21 a.m., LPCSO says its deputies responded to the 4500 east block of CR 800 North for a vehicle being off the roadway near some trees.

Authorities say a green 2012 Chevrolet pickup was traveling east on CR 800 North. It is believed that the truck traveled left of center across the westbound lane and left the north side of the roadway.

Once the vehicle left the roadway, it crashed into a tree, rolled over, and collided with more trees before coming to a stop, according to authorities. The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office has identified the deceased driver as 48-year-old Craig A. Raas of Three Oaks, Michigan.

Authorities say the toxicology test results are pending.
