Las Vegas Metro Police investigating neighbor dispute that led to fatal stabbing

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing stemming from a neighbor dispute. LVMPD says Communications received a report of a stabbing in the 100 block of North 9th Street around 10:18 p.m. on October 15, 2024.

At the scene, officers were directed to an apartment where they found 76-year-old Ulysses Grant. LVMPD says officers detained Grant. Authorities say officers at the scene found a male suffering from apparent stab wounds in another apartment.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Homicide Detectives say that Grant and the victim were involved in an argument in the victim’s apartment. It is alleged that Grant produced a knife and stabbed the victim.

Grant has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder with a deadly weapon. The victim’s identity is not being released at this time.
