Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrests suspect in death of 16-year-old girl

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a homicide that occurred at 702 Richardson Avenue Apartment A in Ashton on October 15. LCSO says the Peoria County Coroner’s Office carried out an autopsy on the 16-year-old victim this morning.

The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was strangulation. The victim has been identified as 16-year-old Jaedyn A. Hill. The Lee County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed charges against 17-year-old David J. Sosa.

The suspect is facing four counts of First Degree Murder. Sosa is being charged as an adult. Sosa has been remanded to the Kane County Juvenile Detention Center. LCSO says it received a call from the Rochelle Police Department about a subject walking into their lobby on October 15 around 7:04 a.m..

Sosa allegedly told RPD officers that he was involved in a murder. RPD officers took the information and LCSO deputies carried out a welfare check at the apartment. The body of the victim was found inside the apartment. LCSO says Sosa and Hill resided at the apartment and were in a dating relationship.
