The Birmingham Police Department is currently investigating a triple shooting. At 8:11 p.m., BPD says its officers responded to a Shot Spotter activation involving approximately 20 rounds fired in the 1400 block of 3rd Avenue West.

BPD says its officers found an adult male victim and two juvenile victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. BPD believes the victims were traveling in their vehicle on 3rd Avenue West.

An unknown suspect in another vehicle began firing gunshots into the family’s vehicle. One juvenile victim has suffered life-threatening injuries. No other details are available at this time.
