The Metro Nashville Police Department has announced two arrests in connection to a shooting on Jefferson Street on Saturday evening. MNPD reports that 24-year-old Marquez Davis and 24-year-old DeAnthony Brown have been arrested at a short-term rental on 26th Avenue North.
Brown and Davis are charged with criminal homicide. Authorities say Davis was carrying a gun before he was apprehended by detectives. In April of 2024, Davis was reportedly convicted of robbery, felony gun possession, and felony drug possession charges.
He received a 10-year probated sentence to the Community Corrections Program. Chief Drake said the following.
“The shooters had no regard for human life and put a crowd of innocent persons, including children, in extreme danger. The entire criminal justice system must treat violent gun crime with the seriousness it demands with resulting incarceration for those convicted.”
