A 59-year-old Stamford man died in a shooting at a Super 8 Hotel on Monday morning. The Stamford Police Department says its officers responded to a report of a shooting at the hotel at 32 Granhardt Road around 10:40 a.m. on October 14.

At the scene, responding officers reportedly found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased by Emergency Medical Services. SPD has identified the victim as 59-year-old Angel Samaniego.

The investigation is ongoing. No other details are available at this time.
