Argument on Lynch Creek Trail leads to stabbing – Petaluma Police Department

The Petaluma Police Department is currently investigating a stabbing incident on the Lynch Creek Trail. PPD says that its officers responded to a report of a subject stabbed just before 7 a.m. on October 11, 2024.

At the scene, officers found a male victim suffering from a single non-life-threatening stab wound. Authorities say the victim and his friend were walking along the Lynch Creek Trail just west of Highway 101 around 6:40 a.m.

They were approached by a male subject. A dispute followed. The unknown male subject produced a weapon and stabbed the victim. The victim and his friend fled the area and sought medical attention.

Officers canvassed the area but were unable to find the suspect. Authorities say PPD and the Petaluma Fire Department have responded to multiple fires in and around the Lynch Creek Trail area. At least two of those fires were deemed suspicious.

It is not known if the fires are connected to the stabbing. No other details are available at this time. Anyone with information is urged to contact Officer Altamirano at 707-530-2242.
