Greeley Police arrest woman for attempted murder in domestic violence shooting

The Greeley Police Department has announced the arrest of a 58-year-old woman in connection to a domestic violence shooting. Around 6:45 p.m. on October 9, 2024, GPD officers responded to a residence in the 6700 block of 34th Street Road for a domestic disturbance in which one round was allegedly fired.

Police say officers found that the disturbance was between a 69-year-old male victim and his 58-year-old wife. The victim was at a neighbor’s residence when officers reached the scene. The suspect had retreated into her home.

Following a brief standoff, the female suspect emerged from the residence and was taken into custody. The woman was booked into the Weld County Jail for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Felony Menacing, Prohibited Use of a Weapon – Intoxicated, and Domestic Violence.

GPD says no one was struck by gunfire. Authorities are not releasing the suspect’s name to protect the identity of the victim.
