Bullard Police provide update in multiple casualty event on Guinn Street

The Bullard Police Department has provided an update on the multiple casualty event at 504 Guinn Street. On September 1, 2024, BPD responded to the aforementioned location for a report of multiple deceased individuals with gunshot wounds.

At the scene, responding officers found one deceased adult female, two deceased juveniles, and one infant. The infant was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The infant was later transported to a hospital in Dallas.

BPD has identified the individuals as 25-year-old Tatyanna Smith, 4-year-old Madilynn Evans, 2-year-old Maison Evans, and 10-month-old Lyric Smith. Authorities say investigators were able to locate the weapon used at the scene.

Investigators initially issued a BOLO for another tenant of the residence, but it was determined that the individual was out of town. Police now say the incident was an isolated double murder-suicide.

Police say Lyric has been released from the hospital and is with family. No other details are available at this time.
