The Temple Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting on Wednesday night. Around 7:20 p.m. on October 9, 2024, TPD officers responded to the 700 block of Luna Lane for a shooting.

TPD says officers reached the scene where they found one person suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers reportedly spoke with the homeowner who said an individual had entered his yard.

The homeowner shot the suspect multiple times, according to TPD. The gunshot victim was transported to an area hospital where they were pronounced deceased. An autopsy will be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences.
