The Albany Police Department is investigating a dog attack that left one man deceased on Wednesday evening. Just before 6 p.m. on October 9, 2024, APD officers responded to the 500 block of Central Avenue for reports of a man being attacked by multiple dogs.

At the scene, officers saw the dogs fatally attacking the man. One of the officers discharged his duty weapon hitting at least one dog. The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the victim’s name is not being released. APD confirms all dogs have been accounted for. Authorities are in the process of placing them in an appropriate homing facility.
