Fresno Police arrest suspect in fatal shooting outside Curry House Restaurant and Bar

The Fresno Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to a fatal shooting outside the Curry House Restaurant and Bar. FPD reports that Northwest Policing District officers responded to a report of gunfire outside the restaurant around 8 p.m. on October 8, 2024.

As officers were responding, 28-year-old Lovepreet Singh allegedly called 911 to say he had been involved in a disturbance at the restaurant and had fired a gun. Lovepreet reportedly said he wanted to surrender to police upon their arrival.

Officers found him nearby and took him into custody. Authorities also say a semi-automatic firearm was recovered. Additional officers found 29-year-old Harmanpreet Singh suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body in the parking lot of the restaurant.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Homicide Detectives say that Lovepreet and Harmanpreet knew each other and were at a celebration at the restaurant.

Witnesses reportedly said they saw the suspect pull out a gun and shoot the victim in the parking lot. As the suspect was leaving the scene, he allegedly fired at another victim but missed. Police say the men are from Modesto.

Lovepreet has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of Murder and Attempted Murder.
