Virgin Islands Police Identify 21-Year-Old Victim In Possible Fatal Self-Defense Shooting In Estate Strawberry

A 21-year-old male was fatally shot after allegedly violently stabbing a male victim. Kjani Skeet was identified by the Virgin Islands Police Department as the victim of a fatal shooting in Estate Strawberry St. Croix in U.S. Virgin Islands.

Virgin Islands police responded to a Shot Spotters alert in Sunny Acres on December 1, 2022, around 10:22 p.m. A caller notified 911 of a shooting victim being en route to Juan F. Luis Hospital by private vehicle. Minutes pass before another caller notified 911 of a gunshot victim in a homeowner’s yard seeking assistance. The second victim arrived at the hospital in an ambulance.

Upon arrival at the hospital, detectives made contact with a male victim. The man stated while visiting Estate Strawberry, the father of a female friend’s child arrived unexpectedly. An argument broke out between the female and the child’s father. The victim was in a car when the father opened the door and started repeatedly stabbing him. The victim drew and fired his weapon (licensed) to stop the father from stabbing him.

According to a Virgin Islands Police Department social media post, the male victim was treated for stab wounds to the head, torso, and hands. The victim has been released from the hospital.
