An altercation in Chinatown International District led to a shooting in Seattle on Saturday. The Seattle Police Department reports that its detectives are currently investigating the early morning shooting that injured one man.
Around 4 a.m. on Saturday, 911 dispatch took a call about a shooting in the 500 block of South King Street. SPD says its officers found a 45-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower hip area.
The victim initially declined treatment but was eventually transported to Harborview Medical Center, according to SPD. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. SPD says there was a brief altercation between the victim and suspect before the shooting.
After the shooting, the suspect fled on South Dearborn Street. At this time, authorities have not located the suspect. The Seattle Police Department urges anyone with information to call the Violent Crime Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
