The Flagstaff Police Department has announced the arrest of a Phoenix man for vehicular homicide. FPD says that its officers and emergency medical personnel responded to a vehicle collision in the 4200 block of South Lake Mary Road around 12:57 p.m. on Sunday.
The accident involved a truck and a motorcycle. Authorities say the driver of the motorcycle, 66-year-old Richard Alan Swendsen, was pronounced at the scene. According to FPD, the driver of the truck was 65-year-old Christopher Jon Hands of Phoenix.
It is alleged that Hands displayed signs of impairment. FPD arrested Hands following the initial investigation.
He was booked into the Coconino County Jail on charges of 2nd Degree Murder, Failure to Stop for a Vehicle Accident Involving Death, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
