The Frederick Police Department has arrested a 29-year-old local man in connection to a shooting on Saturday. FPD says its officers were in the area of East Church Street and Market Street around 1:50 a.m. when they heard a firearm discharge.
Officers rushed to the intersection of North Market Street and East Church Street where they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to area hospitals.
FPD says the victims are reportedly in stable condition. Authorities believe an altercation occurred between the victims and 29-year-old Darryl Lee Cooke Jr. Cooke was apprehended and a firearm was recovered, according to FPD.
After being evaluated at Frederick Health Hospital, Cooke was booked on two counts of Attempted Murder.
