The Le Mars Police Department said in a news release that it is currently searching for a homicide suspect. LMPD reports that Omar Martinez Cruz is wanted in connection to a murder that occurred in the city on September 30, 2024.

Investigators say that Cruz was in Sioux Center in the early evening hours of October 4. A recent tip suggests that he returned to Le Mars on October 4 around 8:30 p.m..

Police say Cruz was dropped off by a black full-size pickup truck in the area of Foster Park. LMPD says it has identified the driver of the pickup trick. Cruz was last seen walking in an unknown direction.

He was wearing grey sweatpants and a black hoodie. The Le Mars Police Department urges anyone with information to call 911 or LMPD at 712-546-4113.
