Shooting on Wenberg Street in Joliet leaves one man dead

Update – The Joliet Police Department has announced the arrest of 21-year-old Kendrick Pullen on three counts of First Degree Murder and one count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The charges are linked to the homicide of Everett Cole in the 800 block of Wenberg Street on October 5, 2024. JPD says its detectives quickly identified Pullen as a suspect in the case.

On the evening of October 9, Pullen was found in a vehicle that was stopped. He was transported to the police department for questioning. On October 11, 2024, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Pullen.

Pullen has since been transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Original – One man has been fatally shot in Joliet, Illinois. The Joliet Police Department is currently investigating. JPD says its officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Wenberg Street for a report of shots fired around 3:49 p.m. on October 5, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found a 42-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds near the entrance of the residence. The victim was transported to Silver Cross Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
