Shooting on Wenberg Street in Joliet leaves one man dead

One man has been fatally shot in Joliet, Illinois. The Joliet Police Department is currently investigating. JPD says its officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Wenberg Street for a report of shots fired around 3:49 p.m. on October 5, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found a 42-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds near the entrance of the residence. The victim was transported to Silver Cross Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
