The Bellingham Police Department is investigating an accidental shooting. Around 12:50 p.m. on October 5, BPD dispatchers received a 911 call about an accidental shooting at a residence on Grove Street.
BPD says the residence has a private shooting range on the property. BPD officers and Fire Department personnel responded to the scene where they found a 46-year-old male suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim received treatment from others at the range before Bellingham Fire personnel took over. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
