The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating a stabbing incident that occurred around 9:15 a.m. on Thursday. LPD says it received a report of a stab victim at Lynchburg General Hospital.

The victim had been transported to the emergency room via a personal vehicle. Officers attempted to speak to the victim, but the victim was reluctant to provide information about the stabbing.

LPD says the victim is reportedly in stable condition with a non-life-threatening injury. LPD claims it identified 57-year-old Anna Lee Coleman as the person who stabbed the victim. Coleman is charged with Malicious Wounding.
