The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has found the body of missing woman, Emily Strite. Sheriff Dave Marshak reported that the discovery of Strite’s body on October 1, 2024.

Strite was reported missing from Jefferson County. On September 28, 2024, deputies responded to a wooded area near the 4100 block of Frissell Road in De Soto after a property owner found human skeletal remains.

Sheriff Marshak reports that the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office used medical and dental records to identify the remains. Strite was reported missing from the De Soto area in April of 2024. At this time, the cause of death has not been determined.

Investigators are working to determine how the body ended up where it was discovered. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities at 636-797-5515.
