The Marana Police Department has announced that one of its officers has been placed on administrative leave. MPD reports that it was made aware of an incident involving an off-duty officer, Daniel Bonn, that occurred in the parking lot of Whiskey Roads at 2290 West Ina Road.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation. MPD says reports of a second off-duty officer being involved were unfounded. Bonn has been placed on administrative leave while criminal and internal investigations are carried out.

MPD’s Office of Professional Standards Unit will handle the internal investigation. No other details are available at this time.
