The Woodland Police Department has announced the arrest of 27-year-old Mark Meyers of Woodland. Just before 6 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to the 1700 block of Brown Avenue in reference to a fight.
Dispatch reported to officers that the suspect was Meyers. Bystanders alleged that Meyers had physically attacked one person. Meyers is also accused of making threats to shoot two people with a rifle.
At some point, Meyers allegedly stole a vehicle and attempted to run over two people but barely missed. When officers reached the scene, they say Meyers fled in the stolen vehicle. During the investigation, it was determined that the rifle was a BB gun.
Meyers reportedly returned driving the stolen vehicle. Meyers exited and attempted to flee into a residence. WPD says he physically resisted officers but was eventually taken into custody.
Meyers was booked into the Yolo County Jail on two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon, two counts of Criminal Threats, Battery, Resisting or Delaying an Officer, and Vehicle Theft.
