Napa Police takes Baltazar Rangel Juarez into custody in double murder

Update – The Napa Police Department has identified the victims in the double homicide on Lincoln Avenue. The victims are 38-year-old Georgina Padilla and 54-year-old Ralph Andino III.

NPD says the suspect, Baltazar Rangel Juarez, is still hospitalized after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The latest can be found here.

Reports indicate that the victims were a mother of three and her attorney. The suspect is the woman’s new boyfriend.

Original – The Napa Police Department has announced the arrest of 28-year-old Baltazar Rangel Juarez on two counts of Murder. On September 26, 2024 around 9:45 a.m., the Napa Central Dispatch received a report of a shooting in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue.

At the scene, responding patrol officers found an adult female victim and an adult male victim outside of a residence suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Major Crimes Task Force responded to investigate. The Napa Major Crimes Task Force reportedly identified the suspect within hours. Around 1:30 p.m., an officer with NPD witnessed the person in question driving a vehicle near the intersection of Juarez and 2nd Street.

The officer attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle, but the suspect ignored the officer and fled. The suspect drove his vehicle into Kennedy Park where it became disabled. NPD officers and members of the Napa Sheriff’s Office responded to try to take the suspect into custody.

The suspect reportedly refused to exit the vehicle and armed himself with a vehicle. NPD reports that the suspect suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect received medical aid before being taken into custody.

Baltazar Rangel Juarez was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
