Update 2 – Georgetown Police have identified the victim and suspect in the shooting on Thursday night. GPD reports that its officers responded to the 300 block of Washington Street around 10 p.m. At the scene, officers found Michael Watson suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim succumbed to his injuries. After collecting information at the scene, GPD says officers located the suspect, Diamond Miller, and the suspect’s vehicle at a residence on Scoggins Park Drive.
Miller is in custody and charged with First-Degree Murder. GPD says the exact motive is not known at this time. It is unclear if Watson and the suspect had a prior relationship.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide. An adult male subject was pronounced deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. GPD says a suspect is in custody. There is no threat to the public.
