Update – The Fremont Police Department has announced the arrest of 47-year-old Abbasin Hoshmand in connection to Thursday’s murder on Grimmer Boulevard. Following the shooting, FPD reportedly learned the identity of the suspect and began pursuing leads to apprehend him.
On Friday, FPD was informed by the Pleasant Police Department that Hoshmand was at their police department to turn himself in. Hoshmand was turned over to FPD and booked on a charge of murder.
Original – The Fremont Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday evening. FPD reports that it received several 911 calls about shots fired around the 40400 block of Grimmer Boulevard around 4:40 p.m. on September 26, 2024.
At the scene, responding FPD officers found a male victim on the sidewalk suffering from significant injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, authorities are pursuing leads to locate the suspect.
FPD asks that people stay away from the area of Grimmer Boulevard between Fremont Boulevard and Paseo Padre Parkway until the matter can be solved.
