The Fremont Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday evening. FPD reports that it received several 911 calls about shots fired around the 40400 block of Grimmer Boulevard around 4:40 p.m. on September 26, 2024.

At the scene, responding FPD officers found a male victim on the sidewalk suffering from significant injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, authorities are pursuing leads to locate the suspect.

FPD asks that people stay away from the area of Grimmer Boulevard between Fremont Boulevard and Paseo Padre Parkway until the matter can be solved.
