The New Orleans Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting on Leonidas Street. NOPD reports that the homicide occurred on Wednesday evening in the 1900 block of Leonidas Street and left a male victim deceased.

Just before 10 p.m., Second District officers responded to a report of shots fired at the aforementioned location. At the scene, officers were flagged down by a citizen. Officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Detectives are working to identify the individuals responsible and the motive for the shooting. No other details are available at this time.
