A 65-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 64-year-old Lewis man. The incident took place at a residence on Deerland Road in Long Lake, New York at approximately 2:40 a.m. on December 2, 2023. The victim was pronounced deceased by the Hamilton County Coroner.

The victim has been identified as 64-year-old Terrance J. Skerrett of Lewis, New York. The investigation revealed the victim was shot during a verbal altercation.

New York State Police arrested 65-year-old Patrick B. Skerrett of Long Lake, New York on second-degree murder. Patrick Skerrett was remanded to the Hamilton County Jail on a no-bond status.
