The Sacramento Police Department is currently investigating a double shooting that left one man deceased. Around 1 a.m. on September 21, 2024, SPD officers responded to the 2300 block of J Street for reports of a shooting.

At the scene, responding officers found two adult males suffering from at least one gunshot wound each. Aid was provided until Sacramento Fire Personnel reached the scene. The victims were taken to an area hospital.

One victim succumbed to his injuries. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to assume control of the investigation. At this time, no one is in custody. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim at a later time.
