The Denver Police Department has announced the arrest of Jasmane Taylor in connection to the death of a woman in the 2000 block of North Broadway. Around 1 p.m., officers responded to the aforementioned location for a welfare check.

At the scene, paramedics found an adult female deceased inside her residence. It was determined that the woman had died under suspicious circumstances. Investigators say they used witness statements and surveillance video to determine that the death was a homicide.

Investigators have identified the suspect as Jasmane Taylor. Taylor was taken into custody. Authorities say Taylor and the victim were known to each other and the death was the result of Taylor assaulting the woman.

Taylor is being held on one count of First-Degree Murder.
