Burlington Police provide update in shooting that severely injured 7-year-old boy

The Burlington Police Department has provided an update on the shooting that left a 7-year-old boy with extremely severe injuries. BPD reports that the seven-year-old was shot while he was a bystander to a shooting last night.

Since the shooting, BPD has focused on identifying and apprehending those responsible for the shooting. BPD confirms that the offenders are in custody. BPD is not looking for any additional offenders in this case.

Police responded to the area of the Beaumont Apartments just before 8 p.m. after receiving multiple calls saying a single gunshot was fired. The seven-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the body. He was air lifted to a trauma center.

18-year-old Tremaine Armstrong has been arrested for Attempted First Degree Murder. 21-year-old Kemontae Crosby has been arrested for Accessory After the Fact to Attempted First Degree Murder.

Both are in custody at this time.
