Prince George’s Police Department investigating fatal shooting of DC man

Update – Prince George’s County Police have announced an arrest in connection to the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Jawaun Jackson. Around 8:45 p.m. on September 19, 2024, officers responded to the 2900 block of 52nd Avenue for a report of a man in the roadway.

At the scene, responding officers found Jackson suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim passed away at the scene. PGPD says the victim and suspect were known to each other. 18-year-old Dartrell Bryant was arrested and charged with First and Second-Degree Murder.

He is being held by the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
