Louisiana State Police responded to LA-594 near Radar Drive on December 1, 2023, shortly before 10:00 a.m. to investigate a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. Following a preliminary investigation, troopers determined the 63-year-old male victim was walking along LA-594 in the northbound travel lane. A 2017 Ford Explorer traveling north on LA-594 struck the victim.

Investigators are unsure why the Ford hit the victim. The driver and front-seat passenger in the Ford Explorer were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Louisiana State Police have identified the victim as Gregory Moore, 63, of Monroe, Louisiana.

The investigation is ongoing.
