The Mount Prospect Police Department is currently investigating a double shooting that injured two men on Friday night. Around 9:37 p.m. on September 6, 2024, MPPD officers responded to the 1700 block of Chariot Court for a report of shots fired.
At the scene, officers found two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital for treatment. Authorities say their injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
Authorities believe the men were in the parking lot of an apartment building when multiple offenders drove by in a white-colored SUV and opened fire. Following the shooting, the suspects fled the area.
Crime Scene Technicians reportedly found multiple shell casings and damage to vehicles and apartment buildings. MPPD officers identified the possible offender’s vehicle using Flock Safety license plate recognition cameras.
Another law enforcement agency located the vehicle and three individuals were taken into custody following a vehicle pursuit. MPPD reports that two firearms were found in the vehicle.
