Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office arrests 17-year-old student for robbery on a school bus

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested a 17-year-old man in connection to a robbery on a school bus. TPSO arrested a Hammond teenager for allegedly stealing from another student and threatening them.

17-year-old Nashaun Porter was arrested and booked on charges of Simple Robbery, Simple Battery, Disturbing the Peace, Simple Criminal Damage to Property, and Cyberbullying. On September 5, 2024, a Hammond High School student reporting having a necklace taken from them while riding the school bus home.

Deputies say they found the necklace. The suspect, Porter, allegedly published a video on social media threatening to harm the victim at school the next day. Porter was arrested on Friday morning.
