The Albany Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to a stabbing on Thursday on South Pearl Street. APD reports that a 25-year-old man has been arrested. Around 10:40 a.m. on September 5, 2024, an on-duty officer was in the area of the City Mission at 259 South Pearl Street.

The officer observed the suspect, Devyne White, allegedly stab another individual with a knife in the chest. The officer immediately acted and took the suspect into custody. The 58-year-old male victim was treated at the scene for a puncture wound to the chest.

White has been charged with Assault 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
