The Tulsa Police Department is currently investigating a self-defense homicide. TPD reports that its officers responded to a shooting near 2700 North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 7 p.m. on September 3, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found Marco Richardson deceased in the driveway from a gunshot wound. Another individual had been shot. The second gunshot patient was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

TPD says there had been an ongoing feud between the homeowner and his neighbors. Five people, including the two victims, allegedly approached the house, rushed the homeowner, pinned him against a car, and assaulted him.

It is alleged that the homeowner pulled out a pistol and shot the two individuals in self-defense. Following the shooting, the other assailants fled the scene. TPD says the homeowner cooperated with police and surrendered the pistol. No charges have been filed at this time.
