The Columbus Police Department is currently investigating a death. CPD reports that its officers responded to the 6200 block of Trestlewood Drive for a report of a shooting around 6:24 p.m. on September 2, 2024.

At the scene, officers found a male lying on the floor suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to McLeod Piedmont Columbus Regional where he succumbed to his injuries.

CPD has identified the victim as 38-year-old Marcus McLeod. No other details are available at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Cpl. Kevin Ross at 706-225-4257.
