The Claremore Police Department has provided an update on a homicide that occurred in the 1500 block of DuPont Street. Earlier Sunday, CPD confirmed it was investigating a homicide in the aforementioned area.

At the time, it was reported that one male was deceased and one suspect was in custody. Now, CPD has identified the victim as 35-year-old Kevin Alexander Theard. 41-year-old Crystal Lynn Stanfield has been charged with Murder in the 1st Degree.

CPD alleges that Stanfield fatally shot Theard. Authorities say the suspect and victim were in a relationship and lived together in the home where the murder occurred. Stanfield will be booked in the Rogers County Jail.
