The Grant County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly battering a young boy. GCSO reports that deputies responded to the area of 3000 North 600 E for a report of a disturbance around 7:53 p.m. on August 30, 2024.
At the scene, responding deputies encountered a 12-year-old victim who had reportedly been battered. GCSO alleges that 34-year-old Dustin Gill was in a relationship with the child’s mother and was responsible for the child’s injuries.
The child was taken to Marion Health for treatment. GCSO says a firearm was recovered from the residence. It reportedly belonged to Gill who is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Gill was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery on a Minor Less Than 14 Years of Age and Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon.
