DeKalb Police arrest 32-year-old Chicago man for Metro T-Mobile robbery

The DeKalb Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to the robbery of a Metro T-Mobile. DPD reports that officers responded to the store at 121 South 4th Street for a report of a robbery on June 21, 2024.

DPD detectives spoke to the victims. Authorities say the victims reported that the offender grabbed the register and ran from the store before fleeing in a black passenger car. Detectives obtained video footage of the incident and shared it with several police departments in Illinois.

DPD detectives say it was determined that an offender matching the description had been involved in several other robberies in Cicero, Lyons, Bellwood, and Forest  Park. Authorities say the officer was identified as 32-year-old Aaron A. Hicks of Chicago Illinois.

On August 24, Hicks was apprehended and arrested for Robbery.
