A 26-year-old Port Arthur man has been sentenced to prison for starving a 3-year-old child to death. 26-year-old Jaylin Jevon Lewis was sentenced to 60 years in prison for two counts of Injury to a Child/Elderly/Disabled Individual with Intent to Cause Serious Bodily Injury/Mental Impairment.

His girlfriend, and the victim’s sister, Kirsten Louis, was sentenced to 30 years after pleading guilty to Injury to a Child/Elderly/Disabled Individual. The charges stem from an investigation in 2022 in the 300 block of Richmond Avenue when a 3-year-old child was found starved to death.

PAPD reports that the child had been left in the care of Lewis and Louis by his mother, Tina Louise Louis. The child had been locked in a closet and neglected. The mother is out on bond and her trial date is pending.
