The Prince George’s County State Attorney’s Office has announced the arrest of a local teacher for sexual abuse of a minor. 44-year-old Mark Cobb is being held without bond. The Prince George’s County man taught at Cooper Lane Elementary School in Landover Hills.

During a hearing on Wednesday, a judge ruled that Cobb will remain behind bars without bond. He has been charged with nine counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count each of Sexual Abuse of a Minor and Child Pornography Distribution.

On August 25, 2024, police were informed that Cobb had allegedly requested and received nude photos of a nine-year-old student. Authorities carried out a search warrant at Cobb’s residence and several hundred files depicting child sexual abuse material were allegedly recovered.

Authorities say Cobb admitted to requesting the photos from the student.
