Bullard Police arrest local man for Enticing a Child and Grooming

The Bullard Police Department has announced the arrest of a Bullard residence for grooming a child. BPD reports that it arrested Randy Smith around 3:16 p.m. on August 28, 2024. Smith is charged with Enticing a Child, Harboring a Runaway, Tampering with a Witness, two counts of Grooming, and six counts of Purchasing Alcohol for a Minor.

BPD explains that the charges range from misdemeanors to 3rd degree felonies. On July 25, 2024, BPD officers responded to a location to assist the Smith County Sheriff’s Office in locating a juvenile who had been reported as a runaway.

At the scene, multiple juveniles were found at the location. BPD later released the juveniles to their parents. BPD says further investigation determined that criminal offenses had occurred.

Smith was arrested and booked into the Smith County Jail. No other details are available at this time.
