The Spartanburg Police Department is investigating a shooting on Wednesday that left a teenager with two gunshot wounds. SPD reports that its officers responded to a shooting at the Crown Point Apartments at 201 Powell Mill Road around 4:45 p.m. on August 28, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found that a teenager in an apartment was suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim told authorities he was standing outside when he was struck by gunfire.

The victim ran to his apartment and an adult called the police. The 13-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach and a gunshot wound to the left hand. SPD says he was conscious and speaking with first responders before being transported to an area hospital.
